BALD EAGLE TOUR
Merrymeeting Bay and the Kennebec river corridor provide Maine's most reliable Bald Eagle sightings south of Mount Desert. The Kennebec River sustains a large concentration of established nesting pairs and provides open water through the winter for them to catch fish. Most of Merrymeeting Bay is only accessible by boat, and is fully appreciated when viewed from the water. This largest predatory raptor of North America is truly an awesome spectacle to witness in this beautiful natural habitat.
OSPREY TOUR
Ospreys abound in this diverse brackish habitat. Witness these unique birds of prey at nest on the craggy picturesque islands of this coastal region. Truly the master anglers of all raptors, these birds are honed by evolution specifically to fish. We might even be lucky enough to observe as they dive with precision and grace to catch the family meal.
SEAL TOUR
Floating among a curious colony of harbor seals is as integral to the coastal Maine experience as lobsters and lighthouses. Even more unique are the gray seals that are at the southern end of their summer range here in Maine. Cruising a couple miles offshore to a cluster of craggy shoals provides us the opportunity to observe a seal colony in the heart of their beautiful ocean habitat.
LIGHTHOUSE TOUR
Cruise the beautiful islands off the coast of Boothbay Harbor and Southport while viewing four of this region's historic lighthouses. There is a good chance that we will see seal and osprey on this tour as well.
